Questions

Frequently Asked

No — MonoFlow contains zero ads. There are no banners, no pop-ups, and no tracking. The app is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. AI features optionally use your own Google Gemini API key — a free tier is available with no credit card required.

The AI reads the current state of your diagram and your natural language instruction, then executes a series of tool calls (create node, create connection, move node, etc.) to fulfill your request. Each tool call is shown live in the chat panel. You can watch exactly what the AI is doing — and hit ⌘Z if anything isn't right.

Getting a key takes under 2 minutes and is free to start:

  1. Go to aistudio.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Click Get API key — then Create API key.
  3. Copy the key and paste it into MonoFlow's settings.

A free tier is available with no credit card required. For current quotas and pricing, check the Google AI Studio pricing page. You can monitor your usage anytime in Google AI Studio.

Entirely on your Mac, as .json files in any folder you choose. MonoFlow has no server, no cloud, and no sync. Your diagrams are yours and stay where you put them.

Your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain — the same secure enclave used by Safari for passwords and banking apps. MonoFlow never logs, transmits, or has access to your key beyond passing it directly to Google's API in your API calls.

MonoFlow requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Yes. MonoFlow exports to high-quality SVG, which can be used in Figma, Notion, Keynote, Google Slides, documentation websites, and anywhere else that accepts vector images.
